A selection of the best wines and matching delicacies are the focus of this autumn day in Caldaro.
One day at the beginning of October in Caldaro (Kaltern) is entirely dedicated to its wines and the autumnal delicacies that go with them. These are the weeks when the last grapes are still ripening on the vines, while in the cellars everything is already being prepared for the delivery of the precious red and white fruits or the first grapes have already arrived. The best time, therefore, to taste the result of the previous year's harvest at the central Market Square in Caldaro and enjoy the mild temperatures, which can still reach a pleasant 19 degrees C.
The timing is well chosen: Peace descends over Lake Caldaro, the sunbeams still invite to take walks and in the air is already a hint of the upcoming Törggele time. The 1st edition of "Wine and Cuisine" (Kalterer Weinkulinarium, in German) took place in 2012. Behind the idea is the initiative wein.kaltern, which has set itself the goal of bringing Caldaro and its wines closer to a broad public. Its partner businesses with the Red Dot, the Farmers' Youth and the farmers' market spoil visitors with traditional delicacies.
