At the weekends and feast days in Advent, the centre of Caldaro is ruled by a special Christmas atmosphere.
It’s December… on the market square at Caldaro and in the alleys there are little wooden cottages. These market booths are filled with products that might be useful in Christmas time or that you might want to present to your beloved ones. In the heart of the village there is a huge fir tree decorated with apples and lights, at the village well candles form a fire circle.
Horses and ponies are available for a short ride across the village, and in a horse-drawn carriage you can explore the village from a different perspective. However, there are also other initiatives and activities for children, such as the “Letter to Santa Claus”, lectures in the library or elsewhere.
However, the Caldaro Christmas Market has become a really popular Christmas attraction. This event is visited by people preferring rather calm markets and enjoy real solemn Christmas atmosphere. In Caldaro you can recharge your energy for everyday life, which is sometimes really stressful in Advent time. The Christmas market is is open on Saturdays, Sundays and feast days.
