Bethlehem, the oldest district of Termeno, and its historic residences are the setting for an atmospheric Christmas market every year on December 08. According to legend, around 150 years ago, a travelling people passed through Termeno with a pregnant woman. She was urgently looking for a place to give birth to her child... and it was born in this very district. This Hof-Advent is part of the Christmas market of Termeno, which opens shortly before the 1st Advent Sunday.
Around 30 stalls in the courtyards of the residences offer a colourful Christmas selection of farm products, arts and crafts, jewellery, ceramics and decorative items, as well as Christmas biscuits and a wide variety of gift ideas. A live nativity scene is also part of this event, a fixed date in the calendar every year!
For younger visitors, there is a varied programme of pre-Christmas activities, including carriage rides.
By the way: a few days earlier, on December 5, the Krampus run through Termeno and the day after, St. Nicholas comes for a visit.
