Pinot noir

Pinot noir is a full-bodied red wine with a high tannin level.

Pinot noir is a red wine grape variety and is considered to produce some of the finest wines in the world. It requires a warm Mediterranean climate and a loamy and chalky soil, good ventilation and fresh nights. Pinot noir grapes are grown overheat on pergolas or according to the so-called Guyot system.

Pinot noir is ruby red/garnet red in colour and has a very intensive and long lasting aroma of cherries and/or wild berries. Its alcohol content can reach 14%. In South Tyrol, Pinot noir is cultivated especially in the area around Egna. It is excellent accompanied with red meat, game and spicy cheeses.
