The city of Bolzano has been a centre of commerce for over 800 years. As a gateway between the north and south, Bolzano has a vibrant and influential history in both trade and business. The city’s mercantile museum represents this rich, cultural heritage. The museum, located in the heart of Bolzano, has found its home in an 18th Century building, the former domicile of the Mercantile Magistracy. Original trading books, valuable paintings and magnificent rooms provide an insight into the glorious past of the city. The Mercantile Museum is open from Mondays to Saturdays from 10 am to 12:30 pm. Other opening times are available on request.
