Small lifts and large ski resorts are close to the South Tyrolean Wine Road
Winter fun is also in good supply in the south of South Tyrol. Do you want to go skiing or cross-country skiing? The winter sports resorts in the region can be reached from the Wine Road in only about 20 minutes - so nothing stands in the way of a great time on the slopes.
Just above Caldaro, on the Passo Mendola, there is a small ski area: two kilometres of pistes and two lifts extend between 1,368 and 1,594 metres in altitude. Families will find a manageable area here, without getting lost in the crowds.
The Alpe di Siusi/Val Gardena ski region, the largest ski resort in the South Tyrolean Dolomites, is about an hour's drive away. For those heading to Merano 2000 (pictured), this ski area can also be reached quickly from Nalles. The ski resorts of San Martino in Val Sarentino and Obereggen are also only about an hour away and can be reached from Bolzano.
