Adige Cycle Route: Bolzano - Vilpiano - Merano

Along the Adige river we cycle from Bolzano to the spa town of Merano: The comfortable Adige Cycle Route gets along without any ascents.

Starting at the centrally located municipal theatre of Bolzano (at the Piazza Verdi square) we cycle towards the Ponte Loreto bridge. Shortly before the bridge, at the traffic light, we turn to the right onto the cycle path along the Isarco river, first towards south! The bikeway proceeds past the EURAC, the stadium and the lido, on the right we can see the districts of Europa, Don Bosco and the developing area of Firmiano - Casanova. Where the apple trees start, we come closer to the crossroads towards Appiano and Merano. Attention, this junction must not be missed! There a fountain is located and maps about the cycle path network can be found.

Turn to the right, the route proceeds towards north through orchards. After a railway crossing soon a left-hand bend follows and few hundred metres you have to cycle along the road towards Frangarto. After another railway crossing at the Adige river turn right immediately. The Adige Cycle Route proceeds along the Adige river towards north. The gradient is barely noticeable, the route can be managed by everybody. Between orchards, river and train line we cycle past the villages of Terlano, Andriano, Nalles, Vilpiano, Gargazzone, Lana, Postal, Sinigo and finally arrive at Merano.
