Gries Town Theatre

The Gries Town Theatre in the Telser Arcade near the Piazza Gries square and the Muri-Gries Monastery offers 368 seats

The Gries Town Theatre is a member of the South Tyrolean Theatre Association founded in 1951 as the regional umbrella organisation for theatre companies. Back then, it was called "Bund Südtiroler Laienspielbühnen und der Bühnen des KVW". Here, the Gries Theatre Company performs plays in German language such as the comedy "Mord im Obstgarten" or the musical theatre "Der Zauberer von Oz" (The Wizard of Oz). Also national cabaret artists can be seen on the stage.

The Gries Town Theatre (Stadttheater Gries, in German - Teatro Comunale di Gries, in Italian) is managed by the "Fondazione Teatro Comunale e Auditorium Bolzano", the foundation which manages also the Bolzano Town Theatre and the Joseph Haydn Concert Hall. By the way: The main hall is available on request to sports clubs, cultural associations, schools and individuals.
