A Behind-the-Scenes Look at L’elisir d’amore with the Principal Conductor of the Haydn Orchestra

The Haydn Foundation of Bolzano and Trento invites everyone under 35 to a special behind-the-scenes look at the new opera production of L’elisir d’amore.
The free “Oper.a Backstage” event will take place on Friday, October 31st at 5:30 PM at the Teatro Comunale di Bolzano, offering young participants a chance to discover how an opera is created from the inside.

Attendees will have the opportunity to watch Conductor Alessandro Bonato at work during rehearsals and experience firsthand how music and staging come to life.
“With Opera Backstage,” Bonato explains, “the audience can find out what singers do before stepping on stage, how a choir enters and prepares, how scenes are built, what the director asks of the singers, and how the conductor collaborates with the orchestra and musicians. These are essential, magical moments that the audience usually can only imagine.”

Through Oper.a Backstage, young people can learn everything they’ve always wanted to know about opera: how an orchestra works, how a concert is born, what happens backstage, and much more.
This season, the Haydn Foundation’s Symphonic and Opera Season goes beyond presenting major productions, conductors, and programs — it also offers a new, engaging way to experience music, seeing the stage from a completely fresh perspective.

Recently named by Forbes Italia among the ten most influential Under-30 figures in the field of art and culture, Alessandro Bonato is considered one of the most promising young Italian conductors, known for his fresh, precise, and emotionally rich musical language.
Under the direction of Roberto Catalano, Donizetti’s lively love story will be set in a contemporary urban landscape.
