Guided tour: exhibition Max Valier

Sunday, May 18 at 10:00 a.m., the South Tyrol Museum of Natural Science invites you to a guided tour in German of the exhibition “Max Valier – First Promoter of Space Flight” at the Trevi Center – Trevilab.

Michael Zuber, curator of the exhibition and director of the Hermann Oberth Museum in Feucht, near Nuremberg, and Karlheinz Rohrwild, president of the museum association and a recognized expert on Valier, will present the life, ideas, and work of Bolzano-born space pioneer Max Valier (1895–1930), from his early astronomical observations to the spectacular rocket experiments in Berlin.

Numerous original objects, photographs, and models illustrate Valier’s central role in promoting the concept of space travel and his collaboration with Hermann Oberth, the "father of space travel."

Participation in the guided tour is free of charge and no registration is required. The exhibition can be visited free of charge at the Trevi Center – Trevilab until May 25 and is part of the Max Valier Weeks (www.maxvalier.it), organized by the South Tyrolean University Movement (MUA) in cooperation with the Museum of Natural Science.

Starting May 29, the exhibition will move to the South Tyrol Planetarium in San Valentino in Campo.
