The St. Oswald Promenade is named after Oswald von Wolkenstein, a famous minnesinger who lived during the Middle Ages. The path, built at the beginning of the 20th century, winds its way above the Monte Tondo and leads to Santa Maddalena, home of the famous wine - at the end of 2025, it has been reopened after being closed for several years due to a rockfall and subsequent safety work. Those lucky enough to wander along the historic promenade are rewarded with beautiful views of Bolzano’s valley basin
