The MATTANA Quartet was formed in the summer of 2025, inspired by an idea from Bruno Guardamagna, with the aim of paying tribute to the charismatic Marco Marcucci, the soul of the Osteria Mattana jazz club in Rapallo. For over twenty years, this club has hosted some of the greatest Italian and international jazz musicians. The quartet's repertoire features original compositions by its members,alongside timeless classics from the bop and hard bop eras, performed with freedom, personality, and freshness.
