The South Tyrolean Wine Museum is located in a typical wine village on the Wine Road.

> The unique South Tyrolean Wine Museum is situated in the centre of Caldaro. By means of old agricultural and vinicultural equipment as well as glass and wooden barrels, interesting information about the development of the wine growing sector are provided. Outside in the garden, different cultivation methods for vines, some of which are not used any longer today, are presented by means of an educational trail. By the way, in the wine cellars there are some excellent old types of wine, which can be tasted on demand. Moreover guided tours are organised on a ragular basis.

Special exhibition :
Vine knife in culture and winegrowing
March 18 to November 11
In the course of time the vine knife has evolved from an implement to a peasant symbol. This special exhibition presents a selection of decorated vine knifes.

> Another museum which might arouse interest is located in Cortaccia. It is called "Museum Zeitreise Mensch" and provides an insight into the evolution of human life. By means of a selection of archeological findings, visitors get informed about the modus vivendi of people in Stone age, Bronze, Iron and Roman Age. A large number of folkloristic items guides you from past to present. The travel through time starts with hunters and gatherers and ends with modern consumer society. The focus of the exhibition is, however, viticulture, which has been of utmost importance due to the fact that people used to be self suppliers. Of course guided tours are also offered in this museum.
