Who hasn’t heard about Caldaro?
The lake, vineyards, fruit orchards and woods and a gentle Mediterranean climate - the ideal prerequisites for relaxing holidays.

Caldaro locates at an average altitude of 426 m (200-600 m) and counts more than 7,000 inhabitants. Each of the nine hamlets Castelvecchio, Sant Antonio, Pozzo, San Nicolò, Villa di Mezzo, San Giuseppa al Lago, Pianizza di Sopra and Pianizza di Sotto and the centre of Caldaro boasts a special traditional flair.

Lake Caldaro is known as the warmest lake all over the Alps and is 1.8 km long and 0.9 km wide. Reaching a depth of approximately 4 m, it is the ideal place for swimmers and surfers alike.

The people of Caldaro care about their self-grown wines, which have become a fundamental part of their culture and lifes. Every year, numerous wine events are organised such as as the “Caldaro Wine Days” or the local “Wine Festival”, where you may taste such special wines as a Lagrein, Merlot, Cabernet, Pinot Blanc or Noir or a Sauvignon.

And the “South Tyrolean Wine Museum” will tell you everything about the history of wine in Caldaro and South Tyrol!!
