Sculpture garden in Pochi di Salorno

The artist Sieglinde Tatz-Borgogno has exhibited around 560 of her works in this “Garden of Desire”

Near the southernmost village of South Tyrol, Salorno (Salurn), there is an outdoor museum to be discovered. The sculptress Sieglinde Tatz-Borgogno from Bolzano has created a private sculpture garden which is open to the public. "Freedom and harmony between art and nature" is the motto of this "Garden of Longing". The life experiences of the artist, as well as the development of her personality over the years, are reflected in the figures.

Hundreds of sculptures, installations and inscriptions can be found in this forest. Mostly made of bronze, some of marble and ceramics, and in the most different sizes, they populate the deciduous forest squatting, lying and standing. In between, a few surprises, such as a magic hat or an oversized hand, appear from the green. In this natural environment, the works of art unfold their own aura, which changes depending on the incidence of light and season.

The sculpture garden can be reached in a few minutes' walk from the village centre of Pochi. This enchanting little open-air museum, whose works of art were catalogued in the municipality of Salorno, which also takes care of their maintenance, is located near other well-known places in this part of South Tyrol. These include the Dürer Path or the "Path of Visions", which leads from Salorno up to the impressive Salorno Castle (Haderburg, in German).
