Starting point and arrival is the railway station of S. Michele. Cycle on the road towards the lakes of Monticolo. After half of the way you turn left and follow a forest road that takes you to the little Monticolo lake (follow the signpost saying “Kleiner Montiggler See”).
Arrived at the lake you continue until you reach the southern shore of the big Monticolo lake. Right before the big right-hand bend after Appiano you turn left. Immediately after you turn right towards the hamlet Monticolo. At the left end of the hamlet you will see a forest road taking you across the wood and the Lavasontal valley back to the station of S.
