In the Via Dalmazio road in Bolzano, right next to the Regina Pacis Church, there's the Cristallo Theatre, which hosts above all theatre performances in Italian language. The quarter, located near the town centre today, was still undeveloped in the Thirties of the last century. When the Novacella Abbey, which has owned estates in this area, assigned a piece of land to the Curia in 1954, the Cristallo Theatre was ceremonially inaugurated by the Archbishop of Trento.

At that time it should house a cinema as well. Today, however, at the Cristallo Theatre take place international performances, ballets, cabarets and live concerts. Local bands and national singer-songwriters, well-known and lesser-known names can take their songs to the stage. The offer includes the own event series "Incontri in musica" (Encounters in Music) as well as several festivals.
