Pinot blanc

The South-Tyrolean regions Oltradige and Bassa Atesina have the best climatic and geological conditions for growing Pinot blanc.

Pinot blanc is a medium size white wine grape. It has been known since the 14th century and requires a warm climate and rich soil. It is a mutation of the Pinot noir grape and yields a dry wine with fresh and fruity aroma and is perfect with fish, light starters and white meat. It is also a very popular aperitif.

Pinot blanc is greenish/pale yellow in colour. It is dry and full-bodied, has elegant aromas of apple, green leaves and even butter, if it is very mature. Pinot blanc is grown in South Tyrol on at total surface of 533 ha.
