The South Tyrolean Wine Road provides the best conditions for growing every type of Cabernet.

Despite its name, Cabernet Sauvignon is not a blend of two wines, but an own red wine grape variety. In fact, Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the most famous and most popular wines in the world. Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are grown overheat on pergolas or according to the so-called Guyot system. They require a Mediterranean climate and a sandy and chalky soil.

Cabernet Sauvignon is full-bodied and has intensive aromas of cedar, black currants, dried fruit, chocolate, green pepper, tannins and fine acidity. It is ruby red in colour. The alcohol content in Cabernet Sauvignon can reach up to 14%. Is is perfect with meat, game and spicy cheeses.

Serving temperature: 17 - 18°C

The red wine grape Cabernet Franc is lighter and less widespread than Cabernet Sauvignon. It is easier to grow and often blended with other wines. It has a lower tannin content than Cabernet Sauvignon and can be drunken earlier.
Cabernet Franc is ruby red in colour and has pleasant aromas of cherry and tannins, a well-balanced body and a long lasting finish. It is excellent accompanied with roast meat and game.
