Monte di Mezzo
The Monte di Mezzo divides the Bassa Atesina and splits it in two parts.
The Monte di Mezzo is the reason why the inhabitants of Caldaro cannot see the Adige river. It extends in the heart of the Val d’Adige and also divides some parts of the Bassa Atesina. This forested elevation consists of red porphyry rock and is covered by mixed forests of various sub-Mediterranean vegetation. The Valle della Primavera is located at Monte di Mezzo, which is also enthroned by the famous Denti di Cavallo. Also the hot air springs, Castel Laimburg and Castelchiaro are located right on this mountain ridge.
