Testa Nera

In the south of the Oltradige mountain hut, there is another viewpoint, called Testa Nera (2,030 m asl).

From the viewpoint Testa Nera, located in the south east of the Roen, you can experience the Bassa Atesina from another perspective. From above Termeno, the world looks totally different than it looks from above Caldaro. The cross on the top of the Testa Nera is by the way located some 50 mentres beneath the actually highest point. So you can also see it from the Val d’Adige valley.

From the Testa Nera, the Sentiero dei Camosci takes to the Rif. Oltradige. This trail is reserved to experienced alpinists. And if you are lucky, you can even see chamois.
