Penegal

The Penegal (1,737 m asl) can be reached on foot from Passo della Mendola.

At the beginning of the 20th century, there was a health resort on the Penegal. The hotel still exists and its operation will be continued in May 2011. Once upon a time Aristocrats from all over the world came to spend some days in this place. For this reason, there is even a road leading to this place. Today the Penegal is a particularly popular viewpoint, which once upon a time was equipped with a tower where you had an even better view. For safety reasons, this tower is no longer accessible.

Both winter and summer, there are several hiking trails taking past the Penegal, which are highly recommendable, also due to the view only.
