Terlano Wine Trail

The white wine and the special asparagus wine thrive particularly well in Terlano: The local Wine Trail describes why

Terlano, situated a few km from Bolzano, offers an interesting hiking experience for Wine lovers. The Terlano Wine Trail starts at the Terlano Winery and leads through the vineyards of the sunny village. 20 information boards along the trail tell about the different types of vines, their cultivation and the different locations. The area with its wine-growing villages Terlano, Andriano, Settequerce and Vilpiano can look back on a long history of viticulture.

Already the Romans cultivated wine on the sun-drenched slopes at the foot of the Monzoccolo. In the Middle Ages monasteries such as the monastery of Wilten near Innsbruck owned vineyards in this area. The first cellar cooperatives were then established more than 120 years ago. By the way: Guided tours along the Terlano Wine Trail, including a visit to the Terlano Winery with wine tasting on request, are offered weekly from April to October by the Terlano Tourist Office.
