The highest point of the town of Bolzano can be found on the 1,616 m high Mt. Pozza, also called Titschen or Stadlegg in German language. It represents at the same time the highest point of the so-called Colle (literally: hill), an elevation above Bolzano which in German is defined as a mountain. The hamlet on its slope bears the same name, Colle (Kohlern), and can be reached by the Colle Funicular, the oldest levitating funicular worldwide. Its history dates back to the year 1908. On the other side of the valley rises the famous Renon High Plateau.

From Colle, the path leads in every season to the 1,616 m high summit of Mt. Pozza. Its steep northern rock face is well-known among climbers, whereas a 3-hour round tour proceeds via the Schneiderwiesen meadows and the “Totes Moos” (Dead Moor) to the top. On the eastern flank of Mt. Pozza, a viewpoint with a fabulous view on the Val d’Ega valley and the Latemar and Catinaccio massifs was established in 1892. At its top, however, there is a stone monument.
