Kaiserberg hill

The Monte Imperiale or Kaiserberg which rises above Bolzano and Frangarto, was partly developed into a recreation area

The Kaiserberg (literally: Emperor's Mountain), clearly visible from Bolzano and Appiano, is a hill with deciduous forests and a former landfill. Nearby rises Castel Firmiano with its MMM Firmian, the seat of the entire Messner Mountain Museums. In the last years, the Kaiserberg hill was partly transformed into a recreation area with meadows and some beautiful viewpoints.

The single elevations of the Monte di Mezzo ridge are only a few hundred metres high and culminate in the 690 m high Hohenbühl hill - the Kaiserberg hill with its 245 m a.s.l. is no exception. A hike starts at the Mendelhof tavern in Frangarto (Frangart), a component locality of Appiano, and leads in 30 minutes past the parking space of the MMM Firmian to the Monte Imperiale.
