Geoparc Rio delle Foglie canyon - Geologic Museum Redagno
The geologic parc Rio delle Foglie and the Geologlic Museum Redagno are located at Aldino and Redagno are within easy reach from the South Tyrolean Wine Road and are both worth to be visited.
The Rio delle Foglie (Bletterbach) canyon is really worth to be visited if you spend some time in Bolzano or along the South Tyrolean Wine Road. This attraction is both for active and calm-natured. Those who like it calm and pleasant can visit the small museum and walk to the next refuge along an interesting educational trail. Those, however, who are not afraid of moving can hike across the canyon.
Particularly interesting are the archaeological findings, not only for children. Also the river bears some surprises and in general a day in the canyon is a day in close contact with nature.
The museum “GeoparcBletterbach” comes up with South Tyrolean dinosaurs and a small Saurus Dolomiticus is positioned at the entrance of the museum. Moreover various archeological findings are exhibited and frames of films about the history of earth are screened. Visitors are actively involved into various activities in the museum, which calls up a sense of responsibility for nature and environment.
By the way, also the Rio delle Foglie canyon and the Monte Corno Nature Park, since June 2009, belong to the UNESCO World heritage sites.
