First World War Memorial
World War memories that have been collected in Bolzano represent a reminder.
In Bolzano there is a historical association which in 2000 set itself to caution against WWI by means of historical objects and memorabilia. “Unforgotten, 1914 – 1918″, that’s how the permanent exhibition is called, which has been brought together in detail work by members of the association, these items are exhibited in Via Vittorio Veneto.
The historic association also took part in rebuilding the front lines, e.g. in Pian Trevisan (Fedaia) at the foot of the Marmolada. In the course of these works six bodies of soldiers killed in action were recovered and entombed at memorials in Buchenstein and Asiago.
