Castello di Ora

The Fioreschy residence in the Oltradige has one upon a time been called Ora Castle.

It is located in the old centre of Ora on the right side of Piazza della Chiesa. This castle should have been main ancestral seat of the Lords of Ora. Only in the 19th century, the the Fioreschy family took over this castle complex, it was named Castello di Ora.

According to documents it was also the main administrative seat of the Counts. A simple residential complex represents the heart of the building, to which at the back a tower has been attached. Today this tower hosts a wine cellar. The ashlar-framed pointed arch portal as well as the crenelations on the walls characterise the annex in the east which has been carried out in Renaissance.
The castle is still inhabited by its owners and cannot be visited.
