Exhibitions in Appiano and Caldaro

The Municipal Gallery in Appiano and the “Le Carceri” Gallery in Caldaro are venue for interesting exhibitions.

… host attractive exhibitions by local artists on a regular basis. Sometimes the exhibitions are housed in special places, such as ancients castles and fortresses.

The Rathaus Gallery of Appiano exhibits a number of paintings and other pieces of art by various artists. The gallery is found in the historical basement of the local townhall, where ancient archways and modern equipment combine to create a special atmosphere.

The Gallery “Gefängnis-Le Carceri” is found in Caldaro. Only recently, that is on July 25, 2006, it opened its doors to the public. When in the early 70s the old prison of Caldaro was closed and a branch office of the public health system was established instead, numerous valuable items were discovered. With the gallery opening its doors, those items and the former prison rooms were made accessible to the public.

In the art gallery “Hochparterre Salotto”, located in the Cassa di Risparmio building in the centre of the village, also lectures, exhibitions and other events take place. It is an interesting place which is conveniently situated and open to everyone. For further information ask in the tourist office of Caldaro or on site.
