Christmas time is a wonderful time along the South Tyrolean Wine Route. Only few kilometres away, an oh-so enchanting Christmas market is organised from the first of December to Christmas Eve. Yes, you are right, it is the Christmas market of Bolzano. A highlight that is definitely worth seeing, with mulled wine and the tastiest hot apple drinks, the aroma of cinnamon, a romantic atmosphere, Christmas carols and happy smiling people everywhere...
The colourful stands on Piazza Walther provide everything your heart could desire, from home-made Christmas decorations to delicious Christmas pastries and honey, candles made out of natural beewax and lanterns and much more.
A huge wooden crib is set up and hand-made carvings by Val Gardena's industrious artists are shown. Within easy reach in Via Muster you will find a slightly “different” Christmas market. This is actually a great spot for all those looking for a, well, “different” kind of Christmas present.
But this isn't all. In Piazza Municipio there are further artists and craftsmen showing their unique self-made pieces of art.
The colourful carousel promises a special kind of experience. Your kids will love it...
And afterwards we suggest a relaxing shopping tour, strolling across the city of Bolzano with its oh-so lovely decorated shops :-)
