Vadena

A southern flair

Directly on the eastern shores of Lake Caldaro lies the friendly hamlet of Vadena. The small but mighty place belongs actually to the small town of Laives, is however a rather autonomous village.

Vadena locates at only 8 km from Bolzano. Surrounded by rich green meadows and woods, picturesque villages and the mighty Dolomites, the small hamlet has a lot to offer.

From relaxing bike tours or adventurous motorbike rides, beautiful hikes or a day at the sunny shores of Lake Caldaro, here you will find all you can wish for.

We suggest: Embark on a hike to the Leuchtenburg ruin, literally the "illuminated castle". The ruin towers on a hill above Lake Caldaro and is well-seen especially in the night since it is illuminated at nighttime - just as its name is promising :-)

By the way: Also the Laimburg School of Agriculture and Research Centre with its famous rock-cut cellar belong to Vadena. Just ask for it at the local tourism office.

A hearty welcome in Vadena!
