Pochi di Salorno

On an elevated plain above Salorno, there is the small but mighty village of Pochi di Salorno (565 m asl).

The little village of Pochi di Salorno boasts a number of inhabitants of some 200. Characterised by grapevines growing on the sun-drenched slopes, the hill of the S. Orsola church represents the historic centre.

The Dürerweg trail stretching across the forest, reminds on the journey of Albrecht Dürer across Italy. In those days, the only walkable trail led across the Passo del Sauch, as the valley basin rather used to be moody wasteland. Today the trail, stretching to the Lago Santo and down to the Valle di Cembra valley, is a very popular hiking trail. In the north of the village, in the romantic valley of the Rio Lauken, there is the Roman bridge, which testifies the importance of this route already in Antiquity.

By the way: if the weather is fine, from Pochi di Salorno, you can see the Brenta Dolomites. Worth seeing is also the sculpture garden of the South Tyrolean artist Tatz-Borgogno, located in the vicinity to the S. Orsola church.
